Domainfest
Well, now that the air has cleared from DomainFest. I would like to say that this was another great conference put on by oversee.net. I had gone last year and met some of the best people in the industry. This year was a greater success and was toped off by going to the playboy mansion. Sadly, I was more interested in the networking and drinking portion of the evening and not so focused on the playmates. Being from LA, you take it for granted.
So, i got asked a lot of questions as for what i plan to do with the DNBA. Well, its pretty simple, to make this industry set some standards. Currently, we don’t realize that, the way we are buying and selling domains are pretty barbaric. Think of it as you’re selling your house and someone askes to pay you a few thousand dollars to buy it and then move in. Sounds almost to good to be true if you ask me. But sure enough, there’s a lot of risk that’s involved when buying a house. Well guess what? The same goes for domain names. You have no idea what the history is of the name may be. It could be stolen, trademarked or be involved in a legal dispute. Those are some of the “woes” that you need to look out for because, guess who get stuck with the bill? YOU!
There are many factors buyers need to look out for before making a purchase. So either do your homework or let a professional handle it for you.
